About Me
One of eight siblings and Canadian natives, Joan grew up in the hills of NE India. Her parents failed to arrange a marriage and she returned to Toronto, cut waist length braids and by a stroke of luck was accepted into Ryerson University's Nursing program graduating to discover that there wasn't a job in the entire country for nurses that year. She landed on her feet in the most beautiful city in the world, Charleston, SC. Joan roams the historic peninsula for a few brisk miles daily carrying her camera. Formerly "Walk this Way" the blog won 2nd Best Canadian Art/Photo Blog and in 2009 the Charleston City Paper's Best Local Interest Blog award.
