| Introduction | I grew up surrounded by women who could hold their own. My grandmother, mother, aunt, and plenty of Mother’s friends were single women, living in the South, making a way for themselves without the help of a soul. My grandmother owned three businesses until she was in her 70s. I admire these women with all of my being. They are great examples of the woman I strive to be and hope for my two daughters to do the same. "The Adventures of the Fabulous Fat Fannies" is an attempt to portray my life as a mother who treasures every moment with my two young girls and yet seeks to find fulfillment beyond motherhood. The stories I tell, judgments I pass, or opinions I express are based solely upon myself and are not reflective of others or the way I feel about others. My best friend in the whole wide world, Fabulous Fat Fanny #2 (she’s #2 simply because her fanny is smaller than mine), does lots of blog-reading while raising her precious one-year old baby boy. She tells me my stories are worth the read to other mommies out there. I’m not so sure, but we’ll see. |
