Doug Holder was nominated for three Pushcart Prizes in poetry.
Doug Holder is the founder of the Ibbetson Street Press.
He is the arts editor for "The Somerville News," and the director of the "Newton Free Library Poetry Series," in Newton, Mass. His audio and videotaped interviews with contemporary poets are archived at Harvard, and Buffalo University libraries. His articles and poetry have appeared in:
The Boston Globe, Small Press Review, Rattle, the new renaissance, Caesura, Poesy, Main St. Rag, and others. Holder was included in the anthology "Inside the Outside..." (Presa Press) a major collection of American Avant-Garde verse.
In Dec. 2007 he was a guest of the "Voices Israel" literary organization and conducted workshops and read from his work in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
He is the cofounder of The Somerville News Writers Festival that has featured such poets and writers as: Franz Wright, Robert Pinksy,and many more.
Holder teaches writing at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, and Endicott College in Beverly, Mass.
