| Introduction | Miles Parker is a leader in the development of Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) tools and in applying computational approaches to the understanding of complex systems. Miles has over fifteen years of experience developing software tools and developed Ascape and the MetaABM frameworks. Miles has worked at the Brookings Institution and in the corporate world developing government and commercial ABM applications. In 2006, he founded Metascape, LLC, an Open Source / Open Development oriented software and consulting firm. At the moment, Miles is developing work in the area of climate change and adaptation and has worked in areas many diverse areas, from archeology to artificial reasoning systems to biomedicine. Miles is an avid skier and a second generation buddhist and currently resides in Nelson, BC with wife, son, new baby and two dogs. |
