Introduction I research, teach and write about religion. I am a Sufi Muslim living in an Interspiritual context. I seek, as Meher Baba advocated, to bring all religions "together like beads on a string." I aspire to the Chado (Way of Tea) values of Harmony (Wa), Respect (Kei), Purity (Sei), and Tranquility (Jaku) taught by Sen no Rikyu. I carry a "spiritual visa" to visit many communities of worship & celebration, and observe & participate in contemplations, & commemorations of the divine and sacred. My watchword and guiding compass that navigates this website are these words from my teacher Sherif Baba: "Whoever follows the human being finds the Beauty. Our purpose is human being, to live the depth of a human being." May we be like the crescent moon, renewing, rejeuvenating and resurrecting in regular rotation. Like the full moon, may our hearts expand with universal kindness. Like the stars may our thoughts shine from the mind of God. Like the earth, may our bodies turn in beauty and grace. Like Mary ('alayha as-salaam) may we pray with pure hearts and clear meditation. SubhanAllah, Al-Hamdu li-llah, Allahu Akbar.
