Introduction Rev. Marcel Emeka Okwara CSsR is a Roman Catholic Priest and a member of Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists). He is from Nigeria, studied in the Dominican Institute of Philosophy and Theology where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary where he got a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. He also has advance degree in theology from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, Tennessee. Between 2007-2011, he was the Associate Pastor of Holy Names of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, Memphis, Tennessee, USA. In 2011, Marcel was appointed the Pastor of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After four years, he was transferred to St. Mary of Assumption Catholic Church, Whittier, California as a Parochial Associate and a member of the Evangelization Team of the Redemptorist of Denver Province. He is currently working in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Apostle John calls himself “the beloved”, but Fr. Marcel calls himself “the special one of God”. Fr. Marcel says he became a priest to give God's love to everyone. Fr. Marcel is a very happy priest.
