About Me

Brooks Hansen is an author, screenwriter, and sometime illustrator. Last summer marked the release of THE BROTHERHOOD OF JOSEPH, his first memoir. His novels – THE MONSTERS OF ST. HELENA, PERLMAN’S ORDEAL, THE CHESS GARDEN, and BOONE (co-authored with Nick Davis) were all New York Times Notable Books. THE CHESS GARDEN was also selected as a PW Best Book of the Year in 1995. Hansen has written one book for Young Readers, CAESAR’S ANTLERS, which he illustrated. He was also the recipient of John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship in 2005 for his forthcoming book, JOHN THE BAPTIZER, which is due out from W.W. Norton this June.
