About me

Introduction I love my God. I love my family. I love dance and working with kids. And God is using all of these passions to refine me as gold is refined in the fire.
Interests Kethem is one of the Hebrew words for gold. The really interesting part about this word, at least interesting thing to me, is that it derives from an unused word possibly borrowed from the Phoenician language. It's lineage is both unused and foreign. The gold that God is refining in us us also unused until we know Him. The gold God refines us into is of foreign decent. The beauty within each of us, God's children, is not our own. It is His Glory found in us from before the creation of the world. It is eternity hidden in our hearts. It is His character, His Spirit, His Son. As believers we have all of this in us, we simply must allow God to bring it forth. He is Creator and He alone can bring gold – His Glory - to the surface. It is a painful process. There is a reason God uses the metaphor of gold being refined. It requires fire. Do you want to leave it hidden in dark caves that are unexplored or allow God to chip it away from the earth, wash it, refine it by fire and put it on display for all to see? His Glory in us revealed, what a beautiful sight.
