About Me

Who am I and what gives me the right to claim I know what's hip? Or well-designed? Or even more audaciously ...what 'art' is? Well, formal educational stats are as follows: A Degree in Fine Art from UC Berkeley 1987. A degree in Art History from UC Berkeley in 1987. A degree in Advertising from Pasadena's Art Center College of Design in 1990 (I was an instructor there for 8 years as well). Informal education stats (aka The School Of Life) are as follows: 95 year old grandmother who began as an advertising illustrator for Department stores and went onto become an award winning painter. Parents who appreciate and collect art as well as a mother who docented at The Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. A brother in law who is an accomplished and critically acclaimed painter in the SF Bay Area. A sister whose home was in Metropolitan Magazine for its design. A twelve year subscription to Wallpaper Magazine. I've lived in four different metropolitan cities and shopped everywhere from Beverly Hills, CA to Shanghai Tang in Hong Kong. I've worked as an art director for print and tv advertising for many major brands from IKEA to Lexus.
