| Introduction | We are a group of parents and educators, rising up from Red Hook, Brooklyn. We have come together to bring our voices and our experiences to the education reform debate. We are members of a proactive and successful educational community and seek to share our perspective on what we percieve to be true education reform: making schools the center of community. We offer grave warnings and reservations about the hijacking of the charter school movement and the privatization agenda based on our first hand experiences as an AAA school who has been forced to building share with a charter school. |
