| Introduction | I was inspired to create this blog around the character Mr. Falker from the wonderful book Thank You Mr. Falker by Patricia Polacco. This true story is about the author's struggles in learning to read and the amazing teacher Mr. Falker who turned things around for her. By no stretch of the imagination am I Mr. Falker, but I strive to be just as caring and passionate as he, advocating for my students and celebrating the wonders I see in them. I seem to be a primary teacher at heart, having taught Grade 1 for four years and now Grade 3 for four years. In all fairness, primary is where it is at! Now I teach and explore and research and try and struggle and celebrate and weep and journey, together with my students. |
