| Introduction | 2011 marks Morris’ 9th Season at the Artistic Director of Rosebud Theatre. Highlights at Rosebud include: The Secret Garden, The Road to Mecca, Man of La Mancha, Mary’s Wedding, Damien, and Fiddler on the Roof. He has directed and/or designed for The Arts Club, The Canadian Opera Company, Chemainus Theatre, The Citadel Theatre, Edmonton Opera, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Mirvish Productions, The National Arts Centre, Pacific Theatre, The Stratford Festival, Vancouver Opera, and others. He also conceived and co-authored Tent Meeting with Ron Reed. His direction of the musical garnered four Dora nominations including Best New Musical and Best Production and a Sterling Award nomination for Outstanding Musical. The show has been produced in numerous theaters in the US and Canada. Mr. Ertman is the recipient of nine Sterling Awards and a Dora Award for the Canadian Opera Company’s Beatrice et Benedict. He has been nominated twice for the Siminovitch prize for excellence in Canadian theatre. He is also named in Theatre 100, a publication of 100 Alberta artists who have made a noteworthy contribution to Alberta’s theatre in the last century. |
