Introduction I'm the author of seven fantasy novels, including (most recently) The Burning Land and The Awakened City. I review science fiction and fantasy for several publications, including SF Site, and my articles on writing have appeared in Writer’s Digest and elsewhere. In 2006, I served as a judge for the World Fantasy Awards. I'm an active member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, where I serve as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Writing Scams and the webmistress of the Writer Beware website.
