| Introduction | Don't get me wrong, I do not always feel happy. But as the years go by, I become happier with my - far from perfect - self. I daresay, I become a bit wiser. One proof of that is my frequent arrival at the same conclusion as Plato's, “I only know that I know nothing.” I realize that no matter how much life experience I gain, I’ll never become a pro at living. And here comes the ‘happy’ part – I don’t want to become a pro. I want to engage in life as a favorite pastime, not a profession. I want to remain inexperienced and incompetent, like a novice who is hungry for knowledge and humble at the same time. I want to be a constant devotee and admirer of life. In other words, I want to be an amateur. If it strikes a chord with you, let us talk! Live for the Love of it, The Happy Amateur |
