About me

Introduction I'm a feminist activist, artist and writer living in London. I've produced two large portfolios of work in the last year. “Asking for it” – a project about confronting gender roles and the threat of male violence – was shown at the Islington Arts Factory as part of Ladyfest – an international festival that grew out of the US Riot Grrl movement. The two-day show was sponsored by ILFORD PHOTO and chosen as that week’s hot pick by DIVA magazine. It was covered by feminist publications including Uplift, Lesbilicious.com, the F-word and publications abroad. I also showed some of the work at Shoreditch Town Hall with the Homeless Gallery as part of Photomonth 08, the east London photography festival. And exhibited sound recordings taken during the shooting of ‘Asking For It’ at Aberdeen University late in 2008. Rape Crisis invited me to talk in schools about the project alongside their sessions on sexual violence and pornography. This was an experience that led me to start work on a ‘zine for teenagers challenging sexism called ‘At Sea With Sexists’. Anyone want to fund the printing?
