About me

Location Charleston, SC, United States
Introduction Ironically, I vote Republican on many issues. I've become disillusioned in recent years though, with the Republican party's marketing of themselves as the "family values and Christian party" when there are some views supported that seem decidedly "un-Christian". It's easy to say "X party is Christian" or "X party is 'evil'." I go to a very cool church of some of the most most spiritually wise people I've ever met, yet still hear those kinds of comments (not in the pulpit, though). I can't really blame people though, because (A) I am just as easily biased as anyone else and (B) Let's face it; Keeping up with each candidate's platform plus their actual record of performance around election time takes real effort. It's easier to vote party-line. It's easier to let others think for me. This blog is mostly a venue for me to let out a random rant or two and for my friends to straighten me out, but hopefully it's also a place that challenges your views regardless of what party you tend to vote for. Both of the parties in the US political system contain elements which don't seem match with the others on the surface. Maybe they do though, so let me know what you think.
