Introduction | I am a well-educated yet eternally underemployed reserved gentleman who has lived most of his life in the Rocky Mountain West and High Plains with a wide variety of interests - among them, spectator sports (MLB, NHL, College Football, MWC Hoops, NFL, CFL, & Horse Racing); public policy, 20th Century History, the outdoors, travel & sightseeing, and such sciences as meteorology/climatology, geology, ecology, astronomy, and theoretical/quantum physics; environmentalism, conservation, and alternative energies technologies; participatory sports (golf, boating, camping, fishing, walking); is open-minded, single, and with an outre sense of humor; is largely socially conservative but economically and politically progressive and socialist; and enjoys a wide range of music (classic rock, country, oldies, jazz, and new age; good food, beverages, and conversation about a wide variety of topics including the news interests of the day and history... I look forward to retiring someday perhaps to the SW Oregon Coast, the Southern Nevada Desert, somewhere in Arizona, the Washington coastal corridor, or the Northern and Eastern Montana Prairie (if I can live that long !). |
Interests | Spectator Sports(MLB, College Football, NHL, Mountain West Conference sports, NFL, horse racing); travel, dining, surfing & researching on the net; golf; reading (nonfiction, history & other social sciences, & public policy); camping, fishing, hiking; and the ultimate spectator and participation sport... |
Favorite Movies | Romantic Comedies, some Adventure and Dramas, films with a historical setting; I prefer movies that contain little if any violence. My top 60 is listed on this blog below. |
Favorite Music | My favorites start with classic rock (1968-1987); oldies rock (1958-1970); country (new, old, & classic); jazz (preferably older). I have over 1000 CDs, cassettes, & LPS-- one day I will get more into downloading music off the 'net when I have a computer worthy enough for the storage needed. |
Favorite Books | Primarily nonfiction concerning history, political science, public policy, biography, and other social sciences; sports. |
