| Introduction | Matthew Cecil is a Brookings native and SDSU graduate. He has seven years of media experience, including stints as a political reporter with the Sioux Falls Argus Leader and The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead. Cecil holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Iowa. He spent two years as an assistant professor at Purdue University and three years at The University of Oklahoma before returning home to SDSU in 2005. Cecil's wife, Jennifer Tiernan, also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. Cecil and Tiernan have one son, Owen. |
