Born in Iowa of Czech parents, she graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois where she and her future husband Ted were classmates. She served with her husband in mission, church, and educational work in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and the U.S. They founded a church for Chinese Christians in Washington, D.C. and co-founded AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST, INC. a campus ministry among Chinese university students, scholars and professionals throughout North America. She has written, edited, or collaborated over 45 books, many foreign language editions, and published scores of articles in publications. Four adult sons, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren keep her busy when she is not at her computer in her studio in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. |
