Introduction Born in Washington DC, I graduated from the U of MD and from the U of Chicago, marrying shortly thereafter. I worked for the Ford Foundation in NY. After six years we moved to Latin America where we lived for ten years, raising our family of three. Returning to the US, we lived in FL, and then moved to NJ, where I worked for an arts non profit. Another move took us to Dallas, TX, where I had the opportunity to take three courses in writing for children, Returning to NJ, I joined a writer's group. I have completed three novels for children and some short stories, but have never published. I am currently writing a novel based on my mother's childhood in Virginia in the early twenties. I love history, especially as it pertains to the common man. I have always been "keeper" of the family genealogy, so I have a wealth of information to draw on for my writing. The trick is to create a novel interesting to publishers, something I have have yet to acccomplish. But I will keep trying. In addition to writing, I presently serve on two boards whose mission is historic preservation.
