| Introduction | Collective Upcycle is a boutique of reused art/craft & handmade goods that roams throughout Cleveland. In this city we are rich in resources like collaborative people, innovative thinking, empty retail spaces, and creative reuse artists/makers/innovators of all stripes. Collective Upcycle sprouted from this richness and will sprout (and pop-up) again and again. It's a pop-up boutique, designed to be replicated more than once, a few times a year, in different Cleveland places. What is it, though, exactly, you ask? A shop. Of art & goods made by hand by people who live in the Northeast Ohio region who upcycle leftover materials of all kinds. We're not open year round, but for a specific length of time. We collect inventory from the artists & makers ahead of time. We partner with Habitat for Humanity ReStore for furniture, etc. and we create a temporary use of otherwise vacant space that is remarkable, inspiring, fun, and for sale. All participants work collectively to promote the shop far & wide. And so do our friends & supporters, and hopefully so will you! |
