Introduction I am a 6th grade teacher turning homemaker by life's bumps in the road. The first bump was breast cancer at the age of thirty. The second bump was my son, DJ. My son's diagnosis of autism turned my world upside down and forced me to learn to look at things from a dramatically different perspective. Life looks really different when you are standing on your head! I have an older child, Kelsie, who is 18. She is currently in the middle of adolescence with all the drama that is anyone's teenage years. She makes me glad that I am NOT a teenager! My husband, Joseph, has dealt with my insanity for eight and a half years. He wears his seat belt tighter than the rest of us as he was not expecting such a roller coaster of a life. I have learned that life will take you many places you would have never anticipated. This blog is a reflection of that journey. I have had a secret desire to write for many years and now feel it is time to slow down enough to share my experience with others. This blog isn't specifically about autism...it's about life and how my experiences color mine with vibrant hues!
