| Introduction | Ask me anything and I'll tell. I've been told this is a problem, that I can't keep a secret. I'm funny, I think. Sometimes I know it for sure, like when I was pregnant and I told my sister-in-law my name ideas and she said the only job for a boy named Rafael is hairdresser and I said, "Good, cause I'm hoping for a fag." I'm smart enough. Politically conscious. Not on top of politics all the time, but stay moderately informed. One of my best friends is a poltical writer for The Herald. She tells me what's up. I care about the environment. It breaks my heart to see people pollute. I do it too, of course, but try my best to ride my bike when it's OK to show up sweaty. I love my family, which is why I live in Miami, where my family lives, and not in California. Have a daughter, which I did on my own. By far the greatest thing I ever did. I hated being pregnant and wrote a book called My Miserable, Lonely, Lesbian Pregnancy, which will be out in May, 2008 (Cleis Press). |
