Introduction Welcome! I'm Julia, a Texan transplant from Florida. I unintentionally fell in love with my pen pal from college, and we have been very intentionally married almost 14 years. My life centers around raising our brood of boys and figuring out how to be a freelance writer/blogger and fitness instructor with the small gaps in between basketball practice, piano lessons and and mud maintenance. I love the Lord and my Catholic faith, I love my husband, my family and friends. Life is a gift and I want to share the goodness I've been given everywhere I go. My hope is that as I travel through my life, my words might bring encouragement to others....in the form of laughter, tears and perhaps the occasional face-palm. :) And please! Pop over to my writing blog at www.beata-vita@blogspot.com and share your thoughts with me there, too! Thank you for coming by!

Favorite Movies A mix of both unabashedly nostalgic and starkingly formative favorite films, including musicals! Amelie, My Fair Lady, Before Sunrise/Sunset, Green Card, A Little Women (90's), A Little Princess (90's) Groundhog Day, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Vanilla Sky, The Matrix, the Star Wars Trilogy, Classic Masterpiece Theatre on BBC: Daniel Deronda, North and South, Pride & Prejudice (the mini series- though I've come to appreciate the Focus Films adaptation of P&P) and Jane Eyre (Focus Films). And the list continues....Napoleon Dynamite, the Sound of Music, Life is Beautiful, Ever After, the Princess Bride, Duck Soup, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Invisible Children, Hotel Rwanda, The Way, The Young Victoria, The Family Man, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Spirited Away, Stranger Than Fiction, Spanglish, the Life of Pi, Steel Magnolias, The Mummy, Far from the Madding Crowd (Focus Films) and last but not least - What About Bob.
Favorite Music Again...a nostalgic and formative list.....I can't imagine categorizing my favorites! Also, it is true that I am guilty of framing most moments of life with their own specific soundtracks. U2, Simon and Garfunkel, Most ALL 80's music, Enya, Sting, Sade, Dave Matthews Band, Seal, Air, Beatles, Stan Getz, Les McCann, Joao Gilberto, Bob Marley, Billy Joel, Peter Gabriel, Ottmar Liebert, Gypsy Kings, Coldplay, Van Morrison, Gershwin, Scott Joplin, Vivaldi, Debussy, Puccini, Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, Radiohead, The Pretenders, Cranberries, Madeleine Peyroux, Feist, Matt Maher, Lauren Daigle.
Favorite Books Books from my youth as well as adulthood - mainly literature. Jane Eyre, Til We Have Faces, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Kristin Lavransdatter, Shirt of Flame, The Count of Monte Cristo, A Little Princess, The Secret Garden, Little Women, Persuasion, the Namesake. I'm a big fan of plays, particularly attributed to the "Bard" and short story anthologies.
