About Me

I have been creating art for many years although I didn't really get started in fine art until my children were both in school. I went back to college and graduated with a BA in Art Education and a BA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Illustration. My greatest desire was to write and illustrate childrens' books. I have many, many influences but right from the start I have been especially drawn to the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods, particularly illuminated Manuscripts. Although I did write and illustrate a book for my Senior Thesis Exhibition in college, I never did get it published, nor did I continue in that direction. I began teaching art in 1995 and I've been doing that ever since graduation. I love all art and I find it difficult to stick to one medium or even one area. Much of what I do these days are examples for students - very limited in creativity or uniqueness. This Blogspot has been an inspiration for me to work for myself once again.
