| Introduction | Art Teacher profile: Annette Corkery Going to school in Ardagh, it’s history and heritage were always important to me. As one of the last class to start Junior Infants in the old school, the building has always been special to me too and so I am really excited to be working here. I qualified as an art teacher over 15 years ago and have been teaching all age groups since. I have a BA(Hons) in Literature and Psychology and I researched the connections between the arts and cognitive, social and emotional gains. This led to an MLitt thesis in NCAD, focusing on Creativity in education. I also studied graphic design and have years of experience using the Adobe Creative Suite packages, but much of my own work is textile based: batik, weaving, felting, dress-making and embroidery. I have also an interest in ceramics and creative writing and look forward to sharing these skills and more with you. |
