Gender Female
Industry Sports or Recreation
Occupation Retired Physician, Now Bead Store Owner/Entrepreneur/Creativity Coach
Location Collingswood, New Jersey, United States
Introduction I started knitting at age 8, followed soon by crocheting, and the rest is history! I did pottery for years until I developed the upper body nerve injury and chronic pain syndrome that took me from my career as a physician. It also took all the leisure loves in my life, such as skiing, bicycling, pottery, gardening, etc. Learning beading resurrected my creative spirit, & helped me live again! My first store opened in June 2003, named JuBiLi by combining the first two letters of my name, my husband Bill and daughter, Lilia. The day I opened the doors of Jubili Beads & Yarns for the very first time, I was finally able to stop grieving for the life I lost, and look ahead to sharing my love of creative pursuits with anyone who was interested in sharing it with me! Embarkiing on my journey to healing through creativity, others were inspired to do the same, and Jubili as a haven for creative, joyful healing blossomed. Taking it one step further,in 2008, I began offering craft classes for those with special needs. Jubilation Creations is now almost 3 years old, and became a 501(c)3 Non Profit Corporation a year ago!
Interests Beading & mixed media crafts, knitting, crocheting, (with & without beads!), flame work glass bead-making, weaving, pottery, PMC, polymer clay, music, international foods, traveling, and current events/politics...FOX News junky! Recently, I bought an "outdoor" recumbent tricycle, which I am thrilled to say has brought me back to cycling in a physically gentle way! Watch for pix to come soon on my blog!
Favorite Movies Gosh-it's hard to pick! But my favorite genre is high tech/fancy computer graphics mega movies that are good sci fi flicks. Loved Avatar, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc.
Favorite Music The Beatles, Led Zepplin, CSNY...all that great music from the 60's through the 80's. Love real funky soul, like James Brown, Funkadelic-the real funk masters!
Favorite Books Most recently read and the one that had the most impact on me: Liberty & Tyranny by Mark Levin.
