| Introduction | My mom is my hero and the best role model a person could hope to have. I watched her walk down the aisle to receive her college degree. I was so proud. She re-married, a wonderful man named Tom, who taught us the meaning of family. I have 7 younger brothers and sisters. I am a single mother of 3 beautiful children. Wyatt, who is 14 years old and begging for his motorcycle license, he is not going to get. My daughter Savanna, age 8, is the child most likely to one day break my heart because she is my mini-me. Daisy, age 3, knows no limits. Born pre-mature, she does not know the meaning of the word tiny. She climbed before she walked determined to do everything her older siblings do. Children are a gift from God and I have been blessed. I began writing as a form of self-expression when I was 16. I have saved everything ever written. Maybe one day my children will want to read my journals but not anytime soon. I was once asked why I didn’t write my life story. I remember thinking, “Are you nuts?” One day, I would like too. I certainly do not want anyone to write it for me! : ) |
