| Introduction | My name is Amy. The name means "beloved." I grew up hating my name...finding it too common, too wholesome, neither of which I considered appropriate adjectives to define myself. I have come to appreciate it. I think it suits me. It is predictable, a bit old fashioned and even yes, it's true, "wholesome." Early on, I learned to love old things. Things that tell a story, have a past. Once beloved treasures that have since been cast aside to make way for the newer (trendier) model. I say 'trendier' with an underlying venomous tone . Let's hold on to the old. Find beauty in imperfection. Recognize the importance of reuse and seize the moment when you stumble upon something you've never seen before...and may never again. Allow yourself the freedom to be unique, but don't forget to embrace the simple, the common, the wholesome. It's all VINTAGE! |
