About me

Introduction Head Coach Dan McDonnell joined the Cardinals in June of 2006. The top assistant and recruiting coordinator at the University of Mississippi for the last six seasons, McDonnell and the Rebels had four top-20 recruiting classes, and three groups that ranked in the top ten nationally. McDonnell’s teams won back-to-back regional championships in 2005 and 2006, won the SEC West in 2005, and won the SEC tournament in 2006. McDonnell graduated from The Citadel in 1992 and later completed his master's degree in business administration in 1995. As a second baseman at The Citadel, McDonnell led his team to the college world series in 1990 and was named first team All-Southern Conference as a junior. He finished his career as the league's all-time leader in stolen bases with 99, a total that now places him fourth in school history.
