Introduction	Kavi Mahesh is a consultant with the Knowledge Management group at Infosys Technologies Ltd (www.infosys.com). He is also a Professor of Computer Science at PES Institute of Technology (www.pes.edu), Bangalore, India. His interests include unstructured data management, knowledge management, text processing, classification, ontologies, information retrieval, and databases. He has worked previously for the Computing Research Laboratory at New Mexico State University and the Server Technologies division of Oracle Corporation. He also founded a company called EasySoftech. He obtained a BE from Bangalore University (1987), M.Tech in Computer Science from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (1989), and MS (1991) and PhD (1995) in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. He has a US patent and has published 2 books, 7 book chapters, and about 40 journal and conference papers in the last 17 years.
