| Introduction | Heather is a roving Baltimore sports fan who has experienced life in Red Sox, Yankees, and now unenthusiastic Braves territory since she graduated from the ultimate Inferiority Complex school, UMBC. (Seriously, who has a bigger inferiority complex than fans of a university whose claim to “athletic” fame is chess and whose nickname is either U Must Be Crazy or Un-Married Baby Carriers?) She also earned a master’s degree at Rutgers while Ray Rice was there, so guess who her favorite Raven is? Now a transportation planner in Asheville, NC, Heather follows the Orioles, Ravens, UMBC (mostly just men’s basketball and lacrosse since it’s hard enough to even find news about the big sports there), Rutgers football since UMBC doesn’t have a team, the New Jersey Devils (casually) and the Asheville Tourists (the Rockies’ low-A team). She hates the Colts even more than the Yankees and Red Sox since she had nightmares about getting taken away in a Mayflower truck as a little kid and has no use for University of Maryland (unless they’re playing one of the twin evil empires of Duke and UNC) or any other DC-area team. |
