| Introduction | The Horizontalist Papers is a collective project put out by two idealistic folks: ADRIAN TOTTEN is a GreenAnarchoSocialist whose interests include international politics, political economy, philosophy and poetry. For Adrian the most eminent struggle is that for human consciousness, wherein, as Badiou writes, we must "salvage reason from positivism, the subject from deconstruction, being from Heidegger, the infinite from theology, the event from Deleuze, revolution from Stalin, a critique of the state from Foucault, … and the affirmation of love from American popular culture." Adrian works and lives in BROOKLYN! ___________________________ ALDEN W. is an anarchist living in the Bay Area, Northern California. (EASTBAY is pig latin for BEAST) A.W.'s theoretical interests include postcolonial theory (but not when it's hyper essentialized), poststructuralism, theories on the production of representation, critical pedagogy - radical education/deschooling, libertarian strains of post-Marxist rhetoric (i.e. l'ultra-gauche, autonomism, left communism, and (post)situationist stuff), Stirnerian egoism, and of course post-left anarchy and insurrectionary anarchism. |
