Introduction I am a passionate outdoors man. This passion has lead to studies in geology and I am currently working on a PhD in the field. I also am an avid trail runner. I love to cruise on really steep and challenging terrain. I run about 50 miles a week on the wonderful trails on Vancouver Island. I have goals of running the Wasatch or Hard Rock 100 milers. I love music and have a unique and varied taste in music. I am a happy person who loves healthy living and adventure.
Interests Endurance Trail Running, Geology, Mineral Science, prospecting, Music, Art, Photography, Mountaineering, World travel, Healthy Living
Favorite Movies Last of the Mohicans is a great film (cinematography and music were fantastic). I am a fan of Tim Burton and enjoy his films. I like a lot of foreign and classic films like Run Lola Run (German with a cool soundtrack and editing style), Citizen Cain, and a long list of others.
Favorite Music Too many bands and genres to mention in this short blurb but suffice to say my favorite band is, Depeche Mode, but currently I been into, Placebo, Sneaker Pimps, IAMX, The Knife, Rupesh Cartel, Ashbury Heights, I like some classic rock like CCR and of course Zeplin, Neil Young, Beatles, and I love a lot of 90's stuff like Seven Mary Three, Smashing Pumpkins, Live, Stabbing Westward... I can go on forever.
Favorite Books Once again many many books, but I love any of James Fennimore Cooper, Running Books (emphasis on endurance or trail running), The Elegant Universe, The Historian, Screwtape Letters, anything on the Spanish Conquistadores and Native Americans, Big Trout, Into Thin Air, Fire into Ice, Adventure type books based on true events, and many boring text books, geologic articles and periodicals. They may seem boring to everyone else but they are really great if you are passionate about the field.
