About Me

I'm an expat Yankee living in Appalachia, writing to amuse and inform my family and friends, and also to vent the occasional rant. The 500Jerk blog was born when my five year-old son unleashed on his sister the most potent insult he could dream up: "500 Jerk." (See photo of note left on her pillow.) The ridiculousness of it appealed to me.
