Mike Shimkonis

About Me

After growing up surfing in Florida, Mike Shimkonis decided to give higher ground a try. Settling in Colorado in 1987, he lived in Vail before migrating to Telluride 15 years ago. Prior to working with Telluride Properties, he was a senior sales and marketing executive for the Vail and Telluride ski companies. Mike has over $110 million in sales. He finds ample ways to give back to the community. In 2002, he became a board member for Telluride MountainFilm and served as president from 2003 until 2007. He recently completed a complicated fundraising program transforming 10 acres of developable mining claims into open space, while donating his commission, as well as the purchase proceeds, to MountainFilm. Mike also served on the board of the Telluride Association of Realtors, was on its Professional Standards committee, and acted as the driving force behind formulating the association’s First Time Homebuyer’s Fund.
