Industry Non-Profit
Occupation Jr. High Pastor
Location Fallbrook, CA, United States
Introduction I have worked in youth ministry for the past 9 years, and I'm loving it. I started as a volunteer, then became an intern, then a director, and now I find myself as the pastor of a jr. high ministry in Fallbrook, CA. It's been quite an adventure! And one I never saw coming. God kept opening doors and I kept walking though them. Students ask me all the time, "Where do you work"? I'm not sure whether that's a compliment that full time youth ministry looks too fun to be a job or if it's a cut down. "Why would you get paid to do this? It doesn't look so hard." Either way I know it's where God has called me and I've been loving it even through the messy parts (that's easy to say after the messy parts are over!)
Interests I'm passionate about students! I particularly fond of the jr. high species. They are wild, passionate, affectionate, curious, hilarious, entertaining, real, unflltered, and desperate for real connections. We get along well...hmmm not sure what that says about me =) Oh and I love wiener dogs...they make me exceedingly happy. As well as good sushi, bacon, and chocolate (in that order).
Favorite Movies "Life is Beautiful" is my all time favorite, but I never ever will get sick of the classic, "Dumb and Dumber". (It's easy to see why I get along with junior highers so well, our humor is similar)
Favorite Music MUSE is at the top of my chart! Also love New Order, Keane, Eisley, and catchy stuff that no one likes to admit they like (note how I also do not mention them)
Favorite Books I feel silly putting the Bible in a list of "favorite books", feels like something I just picked up in a book store or something, but of course it's at the top. Also, To Kill a Mockingbird (favorite for fiction), Mere Chrisitanity, Crazy Love, The Applause of Heaven, The Kingdom Triangle, Traveling Light, Practicing the Presence of God, Wide Awake

I love asking my new students: "What is your favorite ride at Disneyland?"
