Native Floridian; BA, Stetson, M.Ed. in Learning Disabilities. Veteran SC educator of 30 years developed the Marion County Museum and an Environmental Education Center. Awards: SC State Archives Adaptive Restoration of Historic Facility for the longest operating public school in SC; National Wilderness Society Environmental Women of Action for SC; SC Wildlife Federation Education Conservationist; Teresa & Bob Apgar Faith, Hope, and Charity Community Service; Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Individual Achievement; Florida MainStreet Outstanding Economic Restructuring Program; Florida League of Cities City Citizen of the Year. Featured in two national TV documentaries, “Conserving America: The Rivers,” and “When a Tree Falls.” Freelanced for papers and magazines, placed 2nd in two national writing contests, authored five books. Restored over a dozen historic properties. Initiated in DeLand an urban renewal of debilitated buildings now named “The Garden District.” Restored five building complex which houses her daughter’s FloridaWild Veterinary Hospital and Wellness Center.
