About me

Location New York, New York
Introduction Lori McLean is a self-taught jeweler and metalsmith with a background in design and silkscreen printing. She began making jewelry in San Francisco in 1991 and her line of sterling and enamel jewelry soon became well known for layering planes of colorful, translucent resin over textured silver backgrounds. Much of this work was influenced by modernist design, and in 2000 Lori was asked by the Museum of Modern Art to create an exclusive collection of jewelry based on the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright. By then she had relocated to New York City's West Village neighborhood, where she had her heart set on owning a little shop. The store on Grove Street opened in December of 2004. In 2008, Lori decided to retire her signature enamel line, but she continues to produce shop-exclusive custom designs and curates our collection of vintage jewelry.
