| Introduction | I am just a mom trying to do the best for my family. I am married to a wonderful man, David, and have two amazing children, my 6 year old daughter, Alexa, and my 3 year old son, Carter. After watching Food Inc. and having witnessed my daughter struggle for her life after contracting E. Coli and HUS in August 2007, we knew it was time to educate ourselves and make a positive change in our lives. My daughter was only 3 years old when she got sick. We were "lucky" and she fought the disease and pulled through and is a very healthy 6 year old today! We read about these illnesses and watch the news about them but never really think they will affect us...but they do. My daughter is a fighter and truly my inspiration! |
