About Me

I lead new product development for the Hoover's Online business information service. I started ActionItem.com, a social tasking application. I'm also founder of Semantic Web Austin and Director of The Cyc Foundation, an independent, non-profit spinoff of Cycorp, Inc. I have been working for over 20 years in information technology. I started the OpenCyc and ResearchCyc projects at Cycorp in the late 1990s. Before that, I was Executive Director of IT for a $90M direct marketing retailer. OpenCyc, is the world's largest structured vocabulary of general purpose terminology, and it has been downloaded over 60,000 times. ResearchCyc is being used by over 100 organizations in a dozen countries. I'm currently pursuing an MBA in Market Strategy from Regis University in Denver. I live with my wife and daughter in Austin, Texas.
