Introduction	I am a writer aspiring to publish my first novel in the Young Adult market. UNEARTHED is a contemporary fantasy about fourteen-year-old Terah, who must prevent a powerful tree from dying or her hometown will face environmental devastation. It explores themes of environmental fragility and vulnerable first love through mystery, magic, and friendship-based adventure. Currently revising the 'pitch' for this and when it's ready, I'll share that. I have always been most comfortable watching from the sidelines, enjoying acute observations about others while imagining what life could be. From the time I was a child I expected to be a published author someday, but only in 2010 did I embrace it as something to work on seriously. From there it’s been an exhilarating ride, something I eagerly fit in around caring for my family. Some things I love: Trees of any size and shape and especially forests full of them; ice cream made from actual cream and sugar; the ragged edge of book pages, as well as satiny smooth edges or even gilded edges; pottery, preferably with hot soup or coffee inside.
