| Introduction | Database + Disk + Performance I have been in IT for over 18 years, with the last decade focused on enterprise applications and databases. My background has been in a variety of roles-- consulting, outsourcing/hosting, pre&post sales tech support, and production support. Currently I work for a large software company in an enterprise apps architecture role. I have written or co-authored 5 books on SQL Server for Microsoft Press and Prentice Hall. Additionally, I'm a regular presenter at conferences on database performance and design with enterprise apps in the US, Asia and Europe.
