Introduction God is very important to me! He is my source of strength and provides me peace beyond all measure through the trials of life. The storms of life weigh heavy at times, but God is ALWAYS faithful! I am by no means perfect, just forgiven. He has done so much for me so I strive to live each day giving Him praise and showing His love to others. My world revolves around an 8 year old bundle of rambunctious energy. He is my pride and joy! He brings joy and sunshine to my days! As a single mom, I often wonder if we will survive until his teenage years. He is already giving me gray hair and he is only 8! :) I am very close to my family. My friends, both those whom I have held dear for 22 yrs and those I am just meeting now, play an important role in my life. There is NOTHING I would not do for a friend. It is a role I take seriously! Called by God to be a social worker. Working to change the world one heart, one person at a time! I also have a condition called Fibromyalgia.
Interests Spending time with my son, hanging out with my friends and family, volunteering with various charity organizations (ie American Red Cross), bowling, playing mini golf, swimming, going to the beach, seeing a good movie, reading, writing fictional stories, singing praises to God, listening to music, yard sales, thrift shops, flea markets, antique shops, and counted cross stitch.
Favorite Movies I have not had time to watch any good movies lately! When I do get a chance, they are usually Disney movies with my son. I love chick flicks, especially romantic comedy like 27 dresses (you know the kind that can make you laugh and cry). And, I can handle a good action flick as long as it has a good story line. I'm an Audrey Hepburn fan with my favorite being Breakfast at Tiffany's. My latest addiction is Bones. The "squint" in me loves the scientific info. The "real person" in me loves the relationship between Booth and Bones.
Favorite Music Contemporary Christian/Country/Classical/Jazz Addison Road, SonicFlood, Nicole C. Mullen, Chris Rice, Clay Crosse, Avalon, FFH, Point of Grace, Newsboys, the Katina's, Cris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Jeremy Camp, Superchick, Building 429, BeBe Winans, Caedmon's Call, Jaqi Velasquez, Third Day, Bebo Norman, Jars of Clay, Natalie Grant, Todd Agnew, Mark Harris, MercyMe, Rachael Lampa, Greg Long, Burlap to Cashmere, Big Daddy Weave, TobyMac, Brandon Heath, Selah, and Casting Crowns to name a few of the Christian Contemporary Artists I enjoy! Brad Paisley (who likes to eat at my aunt's place in TN called Nuchi's), Kenny Chesney, Kelly Clarkson, and Shania Twain to name a few of the country artists I enjoy listening to.
Favorite Books I love reading Christian/inspirational romantic suspense!!! I enjoy reading books written by Kathi Macias. She has a new Christian mystery coming out on April 1st: My Son John as well as a Bible Study/Devotional entitled Mothers of the Bible Speak to Mothers of Today. I am looking forward to reviewing both books in the near future as well as her Bible Study/Devotional entitled Beyond Me: Living a You-First Life in a Me-First World. I am also preparing to review Mary DeMuth's book Daisy Chain. I will also be reviewing A Vote of Confidence by Robin Lee Hatcher which is scheduled for release in May. I recently finished reading a Lancaster County, PA series written by Gayle Roper that weaves together the lives of the Plain (Amish or Pennsylvania Dutch) and the Fancy (the rest of the world, us outsiders or Englishers) people. These books will soon be rereleased (with new title's pending). The first, A Stranger's Wish, will be available January 2010. I will be posting reviews of all three books in this series closer to their release dates. Anything by Dee Henderson! I fell in love with every member of the O'Malley Family in Dee Henderson's O'Malley Series. Terri Blackstock, Peggy Stoks, Tracey Peterson, Wanda Dyson, Patricia Rushford, and numerous others including authors with Steeple Hill (Susan May Warren, Marta Perry, Lois Richer, Merrilee Whren, and a myriad other authors), Love Inspired Suspense (Gayle Roper, Ginny Aiken, Susan Page Davis, Lisa Harris, Lisa Mondello, Terri Reed, Margaret Daley, Lyn Cote to name a few), and Heartsong Presents (Tracey Bateman, Pamela Griffith, and various others). Wholesome contemporary christian romance and romantic suspense are my enjoyed venues of reading.
