| Introduction | Michael Spoljaric b. New York, Lives in Portland, Or. After college he worked as a Wall Street commodities broker, whilst establishing himself as an artist. He gained recognition in the 1980s, and subsequently set up a factory-like studio in a SoHo loft on the corner of Houston and Broadway in New York. This had over 30 staff, each assigned to a different aspect of producing his workâin a similar mode to both Andy Warhol's Factory and many Renaissance artists. Spoljaric became infamous with the New York Media for threatening sportswriter Bob Klapisch in response to his book on the 1992 Mets, The Worst Team Money Could Buy: The Collapse Of The New York Mets. He was also the singer for the hard rock group Kabbalah. Spoljaric, realizing that his success as a high school dropout might convince other teenagers to leave school, something he later admitted was a mistake, became a student at Coconut Creek High School. He earned a GED in 1993. |
