About me

Location Burbank, WA, United States
Introduction I am a normal middle class caucasian wife, mother and grandmother. I started working on my family tree when I was 10 years old. You see, my mom ran away from her home in Pennsylvania in 1945 at the age of 17 to come to Washington state to marry my father. Dad was 25 and had been an orphan for many years with no siblings. He was from Alabama. So with them living over 3000 miles from any family, I wanted to find some cousins! And that I did, starting with a dear elderly woman and her spinster daughter living just across the street from me, Ethel and Rowena Chess! Rowena was my elementary principal. She encouraged my curiosity and showed me what a family tree was! From there I have been a nonstop researcher for 43 years and going. Currently I am a library employee in Kennewick, WA. Thus bringing me to this blog. We are starting a genealogy club. No one is in charge, just everyone getting together to discuss their research, help each other over hurdles, have occasional speakers etc. etc. We meet the last Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm in the Burbank Library.
