Introduction Lori D. Johnson has an M.A. in Urban Anthropology from the University of Memphis. She is the author of two novels, A Natural Woman and After The Dance. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including Chapter 16, The Root, Mississippi Folklife, Upscale Magazine and Obsidian II: Black Literature in Review. She lives in Charlotte, NC, but still considers Memphis, TN home.
