| Introduction | Broken Tree Coffee is a family owned local coffee roastery in Peoria, Illinois that specializes in small batch, roasted to order Specialty Coffee. We roast green coffee beans to order to ensure that you receive the freshest and most aromatic coffee possible. Our mission is to offer the best local coffee at a reasonable price while supporting social and environmental responsibility. Broken Tree Coffee is dedicated to utilizing and endorsing Fair Trade, Direct Trade and Organic coffees as well as other programs such as Sweet Maria's Farm Gate to support the farmers and ensure fare wages amongst workers. We offer an ever expanding selection of organic and direct trade - fair trade organic coffees. Our coffee is packaged in recycled paper bags with biodegradable corn-based lining. The labels are printed with water-based ink, and the bags are recyclable with other paper waste. We buy supplies locally and partner with local businesses whenever possible. The interrelation and cooperation of Peoria businesses is what has buffered this area from the downturn of the macro economy, and we want to support the local economy with our actions. |
