Introduction I am a 2006 graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL with a BA (magna cum laude) in History with minors in Economics and Geography. I enjoy military history, especially the Civil War and pre-1800 US military history. I am active in several organizations including: The Society for Military History, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, The Army Historical Foundation, The Intercollegiate Studies Institute, and Sons of The American Legion. I am also a member of Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society, Gamma Theta Upsilon Geography Honor Society, Omicron Delta Epsilon Economics honor society, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. I am attending the University of North Dakota pursuing a Ph.D. in History and serving as a Teaching Assistant. I hold the MA in History from UND with my thesis "CIVIL WAR CAMPS OF INSTRUCTION IN ILLINOIS: EXPLORING THE TRANSITION FROM CIVILIAN TO SOLDIER". My career goal is to teach college and write books.
