About me

Introduction Pat Gallagher has been kayak and canoe fishing the fresh and salt waters of the northeast since 1998. During this time, he has focused his saltwater fishing efforts on Long Island and Connecticut coasts and has fished a variety of freshwater fisheries from upstate New York to New England. As a kayak fisherman, Patrick has been recognized by the State of New York with Angler Achievement Awards for 5 different freshwater species and was also recognized with a Saltwater Citation from the Commonwealth of Virginia. His blog focuses on kayak fishing Long Island and the surrounding areas of upper New Jersey and Connecticut. Patrick travels the east coast in pursuit of fish and this blog will also cover areas from Maine to Florida. Patrick is as comfortable fly fishing a spring creek for brown trout as jigging tautog in the Long Island Sound and the goal of this blog is to encourage learning the various nuances of kayak fishing.
